WhatsApp is not recommended in cases of suspected distraction

[:pb]WhatsApp is one of the most used and favorite apps of the Brazilian public. There are thousands of interactions across dozens of groups, whether with family, friends, college classmates, or even coworkers and bosses.

According to the Regus group, the app is used by 95% of professionals, followed by Skype and Facebook Messenger. However, you need to be quite careful when using this tool during and outside of work hours, since it can interfere with employees' rest time and even affect their productivity and focus at the office. Common sense and responsibility are essential.

Want some useful tips so the app doesn't hurt your productivity or your professional life? Check it out:

– Mute the group

If a group has a lot of interaction and notifications, put it on "mute" mode. You can silence the conversation for 8 hours, a week, or a year. This helps you focus more during work hours and only respond to notifications when relevant.

– Turn off last seen

In some cases, supervisors may demand a response from employees, claiming that WhatsApp's "Last seen" status is active. To avoid this, simply remove the option so your contacts can't see the last time you were online.

– Set specific times to read all your messages

How about using small breaks during the day to view and reply to incoming messages? Lunchtime, coffee breaks, or the end of the day are great options.

– Turn on "airplane" mode

With "airplane" mode active on your phone, you won't receive calls and the internet won't work. This helps you focus more, since you won't get any notifications.[:]
