Facebook: Understand the range of products behind the group

Facebook, Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. You surely have one of these apps downloaded on your phone or an account linked to your email. In 2019, Facebook is no longer just that social network created by Mark Zuckerberg 15 years ago. This company owner is present in different segments, from the Spark AR Studio program, for creating augmented reality filters on social media, to its own cryptocurrency.

Recently, a new logo was announced with the aim of differentiating the company from the popular social network. This will be used across the group's different products. According to Facebook itself, this change was guided by three principles: "clarity, empathy, and creating space." In addition, the company states that the logo was built on a "stable structure" and that the typography conveys a "feeling of optimism."

The tone also varies according to the product. Do these three colors above remind you of anything? On WhatsApp, the logo will take on the color green; and on Instagram, it will be colorful. This way, the new brand adapts, matching the context and environment in which it is displayed, together with the "From Facebook" tag. In addition to the logo and colors, the group has adopted the acronym FB, which will be used in smaller spaces such as domains and employee email addresses.
