Amazon is working on a new messaging app

Amazon is working on yet another product to compete in the massive messaging app market, currently dominated by WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger. Called Anytime, the app will be a full-featured, rich service that could even rival social networks, according to the site AFTV News.

The app's focus will be messaging, including voice and video calls, but there's also the possibility of including photo sharing with @mentions, filters for photos and videos with special effects and masks, just like Snapchat and InstaStories do today.

The move seems ambitious, especially since it goes head-to-head with the market's leading companies, but we can expect anything from the company, which this year was named the world's most innovative company. Users are the ones who come out ahead.
