TikTok competition?
This week, Instagram rolled out yet another new feature on the platform. “Reels” is the revamped version of “Boomerang,” but with a touch of #TikTok. That's because users can create short, editable videos of up to 15 seconds.
Besides the multi-clip feature, including audio, effects, and creative tools for the Stories format, “Reels” can be shared to the feed and, if the account is public, on the “Explore” page, that little magnifying glass in the lower corner of the profile, where users can discover new interests with the help of the platform's own algorithm.
Reels is Mark Zuckerberg's social network's way of entering the competition for the attention of teens and young people against TikTok, which is already a sensation in many places across the country and the world. This isn't the first time Instagram has rolled out an update inspired by a competitor. Stories was inspired by Snapchat, which has already lost its popularity in Brazil.
To use Instagram's new feature, just open the Stories camera and select the Reels option at the bottom of the screen. The update has already been rolled out to some phones running iOS and Android.

''But will Reels kill TikTok, like what happened to Snapchat?''
First of all, here's a personal opinion.
Platforms need to reinvent themselves with every new trend that appears and want to stand out. However, I believe each one has a different proposal and its own individuality, so I don't think one will kill off the existence of the other.
I read on Instagram from Gorilla Agência that TikTok is the Twitter of videos, and Instagram is just Instagram.
What do you all think about this new feature? Will TikTok meet a tragic, premature end here in Brazil?
