WhatsApp launched a tool that lets you search for the veracity of forwarded messages
From now on, WhatsApp allows users to check the veracity (or not) of forwarded messages. No more Fake News! For now, this new tool is available in Brazil, Italy, Ireland, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, for iOS and Android, as well as for the WhatsApp Web/Desktop version.
This new feature is simple to understand and use: when receiving a message forwarded by a contact, the user will see a magnifying glass icon (?). By clicking it, a Google search will open to verify the information in the forwarded message. Take a look:

This new tool allows users to upload the message directly through their phone's or computer's browser without WhatsApp having access to the message's content.
According to the messaging app, this update arrived to help in the fight against Fake News: "By providing a simple way to search the internet about the content of this type of message, we can help our users find news or other sources of information about the content they received," according to the platform itself on its official blog.
