Mark Zuckerberg's network is reinventing itself.
On the 16th, Facebook announced the news about podcasts: the social network now has a section dedicated exclusively to this format. Users can listen to episodes while browsing the social network or on the full page itself with several playback options, including with the screen off. Shows can be found and shared on their own pages and on the timeline, with episodes behaving like traditional posts on the network.
Until now, the exclusive tab hadn't been rolled out, but since June 22nd, the app and website already support podcasts, and according to an email from Facebook Group itself, podcasters can link their RSS feeds on the platform, automatically generating content on the main feed as soon as episodes are published.
For now, only a few pages have access to the tool, but the feature should expand over time.

Besides this section that seeks integration with pages and the timeline, another new feature is Live Audio Rooms, Facebook's version of Clubhouse, which has been in development since February of this year. This feature started rolling out to some influencers and public figures on June 21st, with the same goal as its competitor: creating and hosting live audio conversation spaces.
Facebook confirmed that this new feature can be accessed on both iOS and Android, and that the rooms created allow up to 50 speakers at a time and an unlimited number of listeners – a pretty interesting differentiator. Live Audio Rooms also features a notification system to let you know when your friends join rooms, live transcription, and some engagement features, like live reactions and requests to join the conversation.
