Social Media Day

Do you know the difference between Social Media and Social Network?

On Social Media Day, we bring you an important question: what's the difference between Social Media and Social Network? Do you know?

Social Media

They represent a much broader concept and refer to all the channels and tools we use to spread content and messages in a decentralized way. Simply put, social media is the online environment where we can share information, for example: a blog.

Social Networks

By definition, social networks are the relationships between a group of people. So, these relationship networks don't necessarily need to exist in the digital environment. Put simply, a social network is made up of people.

Got confused? Let's give you an example.

YouTube is a social media, since its goal is to share information in video format. Twitter, on the other hand, is a social network, since its focus is on interactions between users.

It's not that hard. You just need to remember that, by definition, every social network is also a social media.
